AUNT GWEN'S HOMEMADE STEW
2 Large cans of stewed tomatoes (they can be seasoned tomatoes if you like)
2 Cans of water (use the empty cans from the stewed tomatoes)
Large package of stew beef tips (you may want to cut a little smaller if you like)
4 to 5 Medium potatoes, peeled and cut smaller or bigger, whatever you like
2 Medium yellow onions, peeled and chopped
2 Green bell peppers chopped
4 to 5 Sticks of celery, chopped
Pinch of Cavenderís (This is an all purpose Greek seasoning - add to taste)
Pinch of salt and pepper (Add to Taste)
Serves 8 to 10 Guests.
- Place all ingredients in the stew pot. Cover with lid, bring to a boil.
- Stir, then place on low heat for an hour or until meat is tender.
- Let cool down before placing in the fridge.
- Bake a pan of corn bread to serve with your homemade stew.
